While filling out the report card for my train line, it came to mind that if there was a comment section. I would suggest for all train lines, that the doors should be electrified.

Yep electrified.

The amazing thing to me is how two things happen with trains. One, people will push past the departing people to get on the train. Even though as we all know and hear the conductor ask to let people off first. And two, how when the ones either pushing to get on take one fucking step then stop to stand by the door. And the real kicker is it’s not like they get off at the next stop. They just block the door.

So I’m willing to start a petition in these economic trying times to have 2 dollars taken out of my paycheck to electrify the train doors. I know it’s not consensual but every swipe of the metro card would be giving consent.

Since this behavior is obviously learned, I think the electrified door would help in the quality of life in New York and this behavior must be un-learned.

And who could argue with a little electricity?
