I was very excited about this read. I have yet to really have a personal experience with giving or receiving as fisting but I was more then happy to have a chance to educate myself. This is one of those subjects that is not exactly popular in printed literature. From my research I only found 2 other books exclusively on this topic. So I welcomed this opportunity.

The book Fisting: Care, Responsibility and Trust was written by Kim Powers and was published in Germany in 2005. It is a pretty quick read, a couple of solid hours,  with 128 pages. It’s not a huge book to carry either as it measures 8.4 x 5.8 x 0.4 inches.  There are lots of pictures, diagrams, and drawings. All of these are in black and white.  It is not a discreet book to read in public at all. Just look at the cover in the pic lol. I created a cover to bring with me on the metro but even that proved difficult as some pics/illustrations are large and, ahem,  graphic. So I hope you have the luxury of alone reading time.

The book promises to teach the reader about technique, stretching exercises, safety, positioning – for both vaginal and anal fisting – and more. Yes it does cover all that…but not to the extent I had expected. I know my perception is askew because I have so much exposure and knowledge compared to ‘normal’ people when it comes to sexuality, but I found the subject was just lightly dealt with. Of course if you are a couple who is limited in sexual exploration and are curious then the language and the information are perfect for that audience. The chapters on position where clear and well illustrated. But I really did not find the technique chapters thorough enough. I thought I would really learn techniques but instead it was 93% stuff I  already knew…as in start with one finger, then two, then three, etc. I found it a bit dumbed down and not complete enough. Also I would add a chapter about anal sex toys. They are mentioned, suggested, have a couple of pictures…but zero explanation really on how to use them and which anal toy is good for what.

Now for the very bad…
I had some massive issues with certain things written or overall implications in the book. The book is primarily aimed for the good heterosexual couple. That is fine. But the rest is piled up as gay and S/M in a read between the line just a bit derogatory way. Only during anal or gay fisting does the book mention disease, AIDS and safe sex protection…really pissed at that.  Yes you could contract and STD with vaginal fisting too. Also only in these sections is it recommended to remove rings and cut your nails. Uh hello I do not care to have my uterus scratched any more then my rectum. Finally when they say S/M they obviously have no freaking idea what they are talking about. S/M is inflicting pain…fisting would not fall into that category at all. You can fit it into BDSM, personally I would push it more towards DS…but in no way is it S/M. Shows how ignorant the author is about that lifestyle.

But some very good…
I did like the strong and constant emphasis on safety and only 2 open comfortable and consensual people should explore fisting throughout the book. Analingus is discussed at the end, not much but more then anywhere I have ever seen so brownie point for that. Another surprise was all the PC exercises described to strengthen the pelvic floor. I have read about this subject many time but never have I see so many various exercise like in this book. There are some unexpected chapters at the end of the book. Some are a bit far fetched and they are brief overviews of other sexual activities but I enjoyed the additional read. These included G-spot, Speculums, Double Fisting, Self-Fisting, FtoF Fisting and Enemas.

If you are in the kink world and consider yourself sexually savvy…skip this book and ask someone in the know. If the only thing that comes to mind is a religious person when you hear the word missionary but are curious, then this book is for you.

I received this vibrating butt plug to try out. Already seeing the cardboard box pretty banged up gave me a bad vibe (yes pun intended). I opened the box and found a plastic bag containing a really gross and sticky butt plug made of jelly…with brown spots on it. Honestly it looked used. So  got out some latex gloves to take a better look and wash it. It took about 3 washes for the plug to feel less sticky ish…still does…and I was able to confirm the brown spots were not residues of you know what but in the jelly. The jelly was like a little deteriorated at that spot.

And then I saw the wire and how it was placed inside the vibe. Look at the picture above. The jelly is all crooked and the wire is awkwardly placed. So up too now I am thinking this is the cheapest badly made toy I have ever come across. For the sake of trying it I covered it with a condom. It did go in easy and I did not feel like it was going to pop out which is surprising as the neck of the plug does not taper much. The plug is about 4 inches long and 1 inch at its widest point….basically a good sized finger. The vibrations were nice and they are manipulated by the control box at the end of the wire. Its a turn dial that increases a steady vibration.

Maybe I just got very unlucky with this vibrating butt plug but honestly I tried it once for the review and it is now going to the garbage. A sticky slimy badly made toy should not be kept for use at all. I always try to find the positive in toys I o not like…but sorry in this case do not buy it.

My First Post – Talking ‘Bout Sex, Money, And Raising A Son

My son, who will go by the name The Royal Spawn since my blog is called The Countess, is in college now. He’s had a long-suffering attitude about my sex writing, as in he knows about it but I don’t go into detail because he says it’s TMI. (If you don’t know what TMI stands for, Google it.) When he last came up to Massachusetts from college in Maryland to visit for winter break, I showed him my first book in print form and I was very excited about it. When I saw the newest toy Babeland.com offered up for grabs as a review I jumped on it.Yep a nice little butt plug. Emphasis on little. Being a Dominant BDSM practionner I already have a nice selection of butt plugs but only had a cheap flimsy little one. Let’s face it most sub already can take more then the little one or I’ll just go with a latex covered finger or two.

But a little while back I had read and reviewed a book called Anal Pleasure and Health by Jack Morin, Ph.D. I did have an ‘ewww’ factor on my own anal pleasure but the book made me reconsider perhaps being more open (pun intended) to the idea. It works a lot on the psychlogical aspect of it….which I have been doing on and off for a while now. So then enters my new patner. He is patient and experienced and so I decided to explore my back door SLOWLY with him. I am not gonna go into details but its a slow but steadily improvement.

Back to the review. the toy offered was the Little Flirt, a 100% medical grade silicone butt plug by one of my favorite toy manufacturers: Tantus. I was like “yesss!” a nice small plug to start. Its got a big advantage shape wise compared to other similar sized plugs: it tapers bag down at the base which helps to keep it in. alos the base is nice and thick unlike other ones that can be flimsy. Silicone is non-porous, hygienic and pliable. this makes for easy cleaning and care. They can be cleaned  with soap and water but they can also be disinfected if you boil them (unless there is a motor) for 5-10 minutes or put them in your dishwasher.

So how was the Little Flirt for me? Very nice the first time. I graduated past it right away unfortunately. Nothing to do with the toy, I was just apparently already ready for the next step. Again I think I was ready in my head. But if you are totally new and nervous to anal play it is the perfect size because it is not intimidating. Its like a finger. So will keep it very handy and nearby for subs (with a condom on it of course)

Yes, I know crude title! But its too appropriate he he. Tantus, a toy company I just adore, sent me these butt plugs to try out. Meet the small Ace butt plug and the large Ace butt plug.

Now these butt plugs look overall a lot slimmer then most plugs because only the tip is flared. Both sizes have a long narrow neck instead of just tapering like most plugs. I find this gives them a great advantage because even if you can relax and take in a wide plug the actual insertion time with this model is a lot quicker. The narrow long neck makes them very flexible too.

But the main reason why the narrow neck on these butt plugs are so popular is that the chance of the pugs popping out is greatly reduced. They are comfortable and stay in place very effectively. This is actually the case for many of the Tantus butt plugs.

The small Ace butt plug measures 1.3″x3.3″ and the large Ace butt plug measures 1.65″x4.25″. Both models are available in black and purple.

The Ace plugs are made from 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone. This is a top quality material that makes clean up a breeze. 100% Silicone toys can be totally disinfected in bleach or bloiled for a few minutes with fear of damaging your toy. They can even go in the dishwater. BUT (no pun intended) if you plan sharing this toy, since it is an anal toy, I would still recommend using it with a condom.

The verdict? My victim had no problem taking them in (because it is not a new activity…go slow if you are new to anal play) and found them very comfortable. Removal was easy too. We will keep these beauties at the top of the toy chest so I can giving them a full 5 on 5 stars.
