This Friday past was Bride of Pride, which is a fun women’s party for past, present and future women. They are hosted by Canadian Mayhem, which hosts play parties and will be having another conference in May 2011.

The play party was a lot of fun and very free-flowing. I was able to see a lot of people and have the chance to catch up with them. Lots of sexy people in great outfits, hot scenes, and great conversations.

The social area and play area were mixed well together with lots of stations to play at. One of the best things I like about it, is the rules are very free and they don’t have the restrictions that other parties have. I was DMing later in the evening so I didn’t get a chance to play but walking around and watching the scenes were entertaining, hot and fun.

If you’re a past, present or future women, you should definitely check out one of their parties. I had a blast and there are so many fun and sexy people who attend.

Last night I went to a FIRE party, which stands for Female Identified Riggers Evolution. It was a lot of fun and a completely different vibe from most rope events. It was great as there was social time in the beginning and then a beginners work shop and downstairs there was a chance for people who were beyond the basics to practice everything from floor work to suspension.

We got a chance to go over the basics. My friend G graciously volunteered to be my stunt bottom as I learned and thankful helped me when I got stuck. I was very happy when I did my first chest harness on him.

One thing I noticed is that as soon as the hemp rope touched my hands, my mind  was starting to get all floaty and started to wander into a more bottom space. I had to fight to stay out of it. I guess over the years, I’ve been conditioned. However, I love being conditioned that way so it will be an interesting experience trying to keep that but being able to turn it off when needed. I’m looking forward to practising more and slowly learning. Now, just to find people to practise on.

I never ever do what I am about to do: publicly talk about the management of events I attend. But sometimes things just need to be said or done. So please know, I dont do this lightly or with any sense of malice or pettiness. I have no agenda to ‘out’ anyone nor stir up trouble. I very simply think that something is rotten in the state of Denmark and it needs to be addressed.

Disclaimers: None of what I will reference here is private information. All the information is either on a very publicly advertised website, experienced by hundreds of other people (none of whom will be named specifically) or from threads on a social networking site.

One of the highlights of the kink calendar around these parts every year for the past few years is TEASE. This year came with a bit of change as the campground we used to go to was sold and the owners purchased new land to start from the ground up. We (the campers) knew this would present challenges and perhaps some twinges of discomfort as we no longer had the amenities of our old beloved grounds. But, 350 of us decided to go anyway. Whats a few rustic obstacles when it means being with your extended kink family for a whole week?

Some pertinent information: Depending on when you register, the cost to attend TEASE is $180-$250. Plus your transportation, plus gas, plus food, plus firewood, plus ice, plus other supplies. Plus its a week off work which is definitely a financial factor if you are not lucky enough to have vacation benefits. Its almost always worth it, but the fact is TEASE is expensive.
