After watching and reviewing Billy Castro does the Mission (CONTEST SEE BELOW) I started asking myself….what is queer today? I knew it was nowhere near the original definition of it but this movie really had me asking myself that definition of queer seems quite larger then I remembered. Let’s investigate with Wikipedia…
A little history…
Since its emergence in the English language in the 16th century (related to the German quer, meaning “across, at right angle, diagonally or transverse”), queer has generally meant “strange,” “unusual,” or “out of alignment.” At this time it was still not associated with anything sexual. Only in the 19th century does the term start to gain its implication of sexual deviance, especially that of homosexual and/or effeminate males. Subsequently, for most of the 20th Century, “queer” was frequently used as a derogatory term for effeminate gay males who were believed to engage in receptive or passive anal/oral sex with men, and others exhibiting untraditional gender behavior.
Contemporary usage
Some use queer as an inclusive, unifying sociopolitical umbrella term for people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, transsexual, intersexual, genderqueer, or of any other non-heterosexual sexuality, sexual anatomy, or gender identity. It can also include asexual, autosexual people and those doing activities placing them outside of the heterosexual-defined mainstream such BDSM practitioners or polyamorous persons. In this usage it retains the historical connotation of “outside the bounds of normal society” and can be construed as “breaking the rules for sex and gender.” It can be preferred because of its ambiguity, which allows “queer”-identifying people to avoid the sometimes strict boundaries that surround other labels. In this context, “queer” is not a synonym for LGBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender) as it creates a space for “queer” heterosexuals as well as “non-queer” homosexuals.

There has been some talk as there usually is around this time of year, about how to make spaces pansexual. Why all the talk, well it that time of year when event have thier big shindigs.
With the advent of the internet needless to say more people and heterosexuals found places that only the few and the brave would dare to tread. Not to say that there were no hetrosexuals in SM but… The meat packing district, the piers, certain places up in Harlem, the Bronx and even Brooklyn, SM, fun and fucking could be found. Yep fucking.
So here we are asking why can’t organizers get gay men, lesbians and heterosexuals all to play in one space? First off, believe it or not the energy is different with all of those groups. This is not some new age statement, it really is. And then there’s this:
Gay men have sex with their SM.
Lesbians don’t want to be gawked at and downright rude when telling the hetro men they are not interested.
Submissive men only want a cock in thier ass (strap-on) but have to have the feel of a pair of tits on thier back. Or only will agree to forced to suck a cock.
Submissive women play the bi-sexual card but only if thier male top is there to “protect” them.
And well, hetros (men that is) feel every gay man wants them (which they don’t).

So to get all these groups in one place to do SM fuck and have fun, would have to be in a private setting. Because you have to know that the people involved are cool with thier sexuality and repectful of others (which this “community” claims it is.) Yeah.
But what do I know I’m just the black bi-sexual woman in the room in some groups that makes it pansexual to a degree.
